I love Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar Cookbook It is one of my most favorite books, period. The stories are engaging and the recipes a mix of quirky and comforting. My fiancé thought it was great heated up with a scoop of ice cream top. DO NOT buy this cookbook in the digital version. The thing that holds me back from more stars is a matter of personal taste - these recipes are so sweet they make my teeth ache, and at the risk of sounding like a snob, not very sophisticated tastes. I have not been disappointed. I read it cover-to-cover & I’ve made 8 recipes so far. :-), Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2019, Love all three of her cookbooks. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. The challenge was rewarding and frankly I think it made me better in the kitchen. Even if I don't love the food, Momofuku Milk Bar was still worth reading because I learned some new techniques and feel inspired to be more creative in the kitchen. It is music to my perfectionist soul, and lets me make totally ridiculous, delicious goodies to share with friends.

Almost every page is post it note'd as a favourite or "must make." I ave had the pleasure of going to this bakery in Manhattan. I've been baking from Christina's book for a few years now and I've been putting off writing a review, but I find that it's time to post a review, even though I'm not all the way through this book yet. Christina even writes different ideas and ways to adapt the recipes into something of your own. I've tried out a couple of recipes too. All the recipes I’ve made have turned out to be phenomenal — like the corn flake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie — it’s a next level kinda cookie! I looked online for a copycat version and instead found the real thing — right here in this book! Btw, I mistyped that as my gaga reflex at first which seems rather fitting. I have baked more than half of those recipes and love them all. Just about every recipe calls for hard-to-find, pricey ingredients. All I can say is flippin brilliant. I had never heard of Milk Bar or Christina Tosi until she appeared on the Master Chef television shows. If you’re not an experienced baker but still like Tosi’s unique style of cooking, I’d recommend this instead of Milk Bar. But overall she does a great job lucidly explaining her creative and technical processes. For those who seem to think that some of the 'exotic' ingredients are hard to source, it's a bunch of crap. Think Captain Crunch cereal. I’ve made 9 recipes from the two books. Good job Momofuku. Who knew it would be easier AND cleaner! to make something special. For instance, the birthday cake is good, but it contains ingredients that can be found in a good ol' box of confetti birthday cake mix.
